    The University of Western Australia (UWA), founded in 1911, is located in Perth, the capital city of Western Australia, Australia. It is a leading research university, one of Australia's most historic, representative and powerful research universities, and a member of the Australia's eight-university consortium, the Global Alliance of Universities and Institutes of Advanced Study (GAISIS), the Pleiades Consortium of Universities, the Commonwealth Association of Universities, and one of Australia's six sandstone institutions. The University of Western Australia is ranked 77th in the QS World University Rankings 2025.

    The University of Western Australia is one of the world's top 100 universities and one of the most beautiful universities in the world. The old Romanesque buildings, quaint and stately corridors, boulder-paved sidewalks, green lawns and old trees everywhere make up the picturesque campus. The city in which it is located - Perth - is almost the best illustration of Australia's natural landscape and the real state of life.

     

    About Program 

    2-week course: January 13 - January 24, 2025

    2-week course + 1-week social and cultural study tour of Sydney (optional): January 13 - January 31, 2025


    *The exact departure and return time may be adjusted according to flights and other factors.


    Course Directions: There are three options to choose from: Critical Thinking and Communication English, Global Business Skills Enhancement, and Cutting-edge Engineering and Technology.


    Program Details

    1. Register as a visiting student at the University of Western Australia: Obtain student status and enjoy benefits such as access to campus resources like the library and student discounts on local public transport.

    2. Choose course directions based on your major and interests: Courses cover three popular areas: Critical Thinking and Communication English, Global Business Skills Enhancement, and Cutting-edge Engineering and Technology, with approximately 20 class hours per week.

    3. Rich academic exchange opportunities: In addition to classroom learning, diverse academic exchange activities will be arranged, including the chance to participate in workshops or research projects with PhD students, enhancing practical application of knowledge and academic skills. 

    4. Outdoor visit activities: Weekly 1-2 related outdoor visits will be organized to deepen learning through hands-on experience. Past activities have included tours of Perth city, Fremantle Port, the Law Museum, and wildlife parks, helping students better understand the local culture and environment.

    5. Certificate: Upon course completion, project members will receive a completion certificate from the University of Western Australia. This certificate from a prestigious institution can be an important background document for applying to top overseas universities.

    6. Accommodation:During the program, students are expected to stay with host families, which includes breakfast and dinner on weekdays and three meals on weekends.

     

    Sydney Social and Cultural Exploration

    After the first two weeks of the course, students can choose to fly from Perth to Sydney for a one-week social and cultural exploration. This week will provide an in-depth look into Australian higher education, culture, and economy.

    Students will visit two of the world's top universities—The University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales, ranked 18th and 19th globally in the 2025 QS World University Rankings. During these visits, students will have the opportunity to interact with current students and gain insights into studying in Australia.

    In addition to university visits, students will explore Sydney's iconic landmarks. From the world-renowned Sydney Opera House and the stunning Blue Mountains to the picturesque Bondi Beach and the historic St Mary's Cathedral, students will experience Sydney's vibrant culture and rich history.

    Cultural exchange activities such as a typical Aussie BBQ will also be arranged, allowing students to experience Australian lifestyle and cultural traits in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.


    Application Requirements

    1. Full-time undergraduate and graduate students, must be at least 18 years old.

    2. Meet one of the following language requirements: Equivalent to a CET4 score of 425 or above, IELTS score of 5.5 or above, or pass the project department interview. All students are required to participate in the project department interview.

    3. Demonstrate high self-motivation and teamwork skills, with some organizational and coordination abilities.

    4. Obey the law and consciously maintain the image of the country and the reputation of the university.
